History of Brisbane School of Hairdressing

Since the 1960’s Lina Wood, the School’s founder and director, has been training students and apprentices. The Brisbane School of Hairdressing has been operating under her leadership since it was started over 35 years ago.  She has managed to stay ahead of the pack by always remaining flexible and willing to embrace new ideas. Fashion along with cultural, sociological and demographic factors keep hairdressers in demand. Brisbane School of Hairdressing's close affiliation with the Webster & Wood Hairdressers chain has kept the School’s training Current, Creative and Commercial. The School’s graduates are always in strong demand.

The Brisbane School premises on the Upper Ground Level, Queen Adelaide Building opposite the Myer Centre in Queen St Mall feature the very latest salon equipment and teaching resources. The Gold Coast campus has excellent exposure to clients by being centrally located in Southport Mall.

Being Queensland’s largest and most experienced Private Pivot Point Accredited School gives the Brisbane and Gold Coast School of hairdressing the educational edge. The Pivot Point teaching system has been continuously developed for over 50 years and is now recognised in more than 73 countries world-wide.

The Pivot Point system uses advanced technologies like the fully integrated suite of step-by-step books and DVDs. This system supports the superior face to face training given by the team of highly experienced instructors and allows students to easily review hair skills whenever they need to.

The Schools have an excellent reputation for training top quality hairdressers who’ve had more hands-on experience than students from any other hair school. This is so important to employers that there’s often more job offers than graduates to fill them.
The Brisbane and Gold Coast Schools of hairdressing place more graduates into satisfying careers in the hairdressing industry than any other school in Queensland.
