BSH Wins Battle of the Colleges

With three week prep time, a selected team of BSH Students worked around the clock putting together a circus theme stage performance which won the first IHS Battle of the Colleges in Queensland! This event witnessed hairdressing colleges from around Queensland coming together to battle it out on Monday 12 October at Kedron Wavell Services Club.

From creating the idea, to making the costumes, practicing dance moves, turning brunettes into blondes, dreaming up hairstyles and dj-ing the music, the past few weeks the only talk around the college focused on the Battle of the Colleges.

Students were selected by their college attendance, competencies completed, attitudes and work they complete at our school salon. Choosing the team wasn't easy but our selected students stepped up to the plate with their circus presentation having all your ol' favourites including a ring master, lions, clowns, tight rope walkers and even acrobats.

A big thank you must also go to the Models who came to practice and gave over their hair control to our students, the performance success what not have been the same without you!

Congratulations to all those involved and thank you to teachers Donna Molloy and Doreen Wallace for their endless devotion to guiding our students to victory. Your support for the students has been amazing and the students appreciate your advice along the way!
