Craig Smith, Director of Fruition Hair & Queensland Hairdresser of the Year 2010

"Education is something that I feel extremely passionate about. As such an Craig Smith, Frution Salons. Queensland Hairdresser of the Year 2010influential force on young people, the power of an educational intuition is something that can really make the difference between a wholly positive and sometimes less than enjoyable learning experience. The Brisbane School of Hairdressing is for me, one of the finest vocational colleges that I have ever had the pleasure to work alongside. As a mentor to over 20 apprentices hairdressers over the last 10 years, the calibre of hairdressing skill and technique that is taught at the college is benchmark. Personally, Jan Martin is someone who I can talk openly and honestly with, not only in relation to the development of Fruition employees, but also about the broader industry and the continuing drive to create fluidity between an educational faculty and the salon floor." www.fruitionhair.com.au/Careers

We like to say thank you for your support. Brisbane School of Hairdressing is the best choice can be made from an employer’s standpoint. Most importantly, next to a top level of craftsmanship delivered for the apprentices, it is the fast communication what matters. Your flexibility with training plans and your individual solutions are essential to act in the interest of the apprentices, as well as in the interest of a salon. www.gwprivateroom.com.au

Jonathan Muscat, Director of Blow

"Brisbane School of Hairdressing has undertaken the training of 5 of my apprentices over the last couple of years. I have seen my apprentices skills and understanding of their trade develop to a high level as the school ensures that the foundations of their trade are reinforced. I find that we are able to then build on those foundations to assist the apprentices reach their full potential. One of my current apprentices is hearing impaired, the school and especially Jan Martin have bent over backwards to enable my apprentice equal opportunity at school and I have watched an insecure, hearing impaired young apprentice who has never had a job become empowered with a "can do attitude". Before attending BSH she was not sure she could ever become a qualified hairdresser but now she is confident she will finish her apprenticeship and her confidence continues to skyrocket." www.blowsalon.com.au

Students

Tayla Adams, 4th year apprentice at Lia Salon, Rockhampton

"Every couple of months I attend BSH to do my training which I do in two week blocks. I absolutely love it there and the teachers, training and help needed is always available without a problem. The whole school is such a friendly environment, including the students as well. Recently I did a sculpting course and found how simple it can be if you just break it down. I strongly recommend the course and can honestly say I’m going home feeling a lot more confident. I know Rockhampton seems a long way to travel, but knowing how well I’m getting trained and the attention I get when needed, it’s completely worth it."

Michelle West - Past Student graduated 1993

"Having attended Brisbane School of Hairdressing in 1993, I would highly recommend this school to anyone wanting a career in the beauty industry. I was originally placed in a salon through the college, Price Wave Garden City, then went on to have my own freelance hair and airbrush makeup business which I still have to this day. My hair and makeup work is constantly published in both national and international magazines and each weekend I am booked with weddings. I credit alot of my success to the college for their extensive training which has helped me to be successful today." www.michellewest.com.au
