A History of Excellence

Behind every great establishment is a driven, committed and passionate team.

In the 1960′s, founder Lina Wood commenced providing expert guidance to students and apprentices, while driving innovation in hairdressing education. 

​

Lina was one of key pioneers of the private training system in Queensland, which has allowed hairdressers to complete their formal training in one year, eliminating the need for students to complete a four-year (now a three-year) apprenticeship program.

​

This leadership, along with the support of an expert team of educators renowned for their dedication to their students has kept BSH ahead of the pack in providing high quality, salon ready staff.

​

Lina's (while now retired) legacy and drive continues to power the growth and development of the Brisbane School of Hairdressing (now AAHB)  as it evolves into a world-class training college in the fields of barbering, beauty and hairdressing.

​

Changes in fashion, culture, music and art are followed closely by our team as we innovate to keep our training current, creative and commercial.

Remaining flexible and willing to embrace new ideas keeps AAHB graduates in high demand, another reason why we have the highest job placement rate of any school in Queensland.
